User Testing Feedback (2023)

Web Application (Student):

• When adding a student rider:
  • “Needs” should not be required field. Or “None” needs to be added as an option. [andrew]
  • Under needs: “Service Animals” change to “Service Animal” [andrew]
  • Under needs: need to be able to select multiple options on that list
  • It would be helpful to have a place to enter some notes. When selecting “needs” for student, even if specify “other,” no option to enter info. Perhaps even just short field limited to 50 characters
  • Phone number – can it allow for dashes when entering?
  • Can we not require address be entered AND not require full address when something is entered there (re: city/state/zip)? We may want to just make a note occasionally to say “Off campus – Dryden” and don’t want to keep having to update every year where students actually live.

Web Application (Admin)

• After adding a student, they do not appear in the list of students
  • We added a student named “Jacqueline Example” – do not see her in list
• When admin deactivating student:
  • When deactivated, end date should change to current date … ?
  • Existing (future) rides do not get deactivated, but should
• When adding rides:
  • It allows admins to add rides for deactivated riders. It should not allow this and should give an error.
  • Admins need to be able to add rides for students on weekends and assign drivers (but students should never be able to add rides for weekends)
  • Should be at least five minutes between pick up and drop off.
  • Needs to be able to allow for 10pm rides somehow… ?
  • When adding recurring ride past user’s end date, does not give an error. Should give error about end date and rides not allowed to be scheduled past that.
• Admins need a way to blank out days in which the university is closed (e.g., cannot give rides on Christmas day)
• Locations
  • Can “east” be added as an area? Or “east campus” and “east hill?” both be added? [andrew]
  • Added location cannot be see in drop down list
• Missed rides:
  • Can we see how drivers mark students as missed ride.
  • Admins need to be able to mark rides as missed, and also “unmark” rides as missed and unmissed sometimes driver can/will go back for a student)
  • Admins needs to be able to see all upcoming rides for user.
  • Can this be added to view of student (similar to how past rides appear)
• Admin view of schedule
  • Unscheduled rides should default to expanded list [Raissa]
• When admin editing rides:
  • If changing location: should be able to hit drop down and just select new option instead of having to delete existing selection first

To-Do
